Insiders’ Guide to the Collector’s Eye - Intersections OF Art & Technology

September is one of the most exciting moments of the year. We’re back from summer, and galleries are coming in hot, some with fair booths, some with major openings, and many with both. They’re showing estates, reviving established NYC voices, and giving artists their first solo shots in the city, and much more. These are good people, with great artists, and programming worth following. Go say hi. Learn their rhythms. You won’t want to miss what they’re building.

In “Intersections in Art”, we are pleased to present an engaging dialogue between artists Eleanor Mahin Thorp and Stass Shpanin, with Plato Gallery Director Elena Platonova. Moderated by art collector and investor JC Kwok, the panel will explore the inspiration, meaning, and deeper explorations that the artists are pursuing, and how they incorporate AI and mining technologies into their works. Collectors will hear about the intentionality behind their work, and insights into today’s dynamic climate. Elena will also share about the future of the contemporary art market, related regulations (e.g. tariffs, expenses) that collectors need to consider, and advice for collectors engaging with artists.

The Artist Is Home: A Salon at C. Michael Norton’s Studio

Step into the private studio and residence of renowned artist C. Michael Norton for an evening that blurs the line between artwork and environment, artist and observer.

Hosted by the Unix Gallery and Noeme Foundation, this intimate salon is a rare opportunity to connect meaningfully with the artist in the space where his monumental canvases come to life.

Much like the art gatherings of 19th-century Paris, this evening is designed for thoughtful conversation, quiet reflection, and personal connection—set within the rhythms and textures of Norton’s creative world.

Whether you're a seasoned collector or simply curious about how art is made, this is not a viewing—it’s a dialogue.
